Interment Services Information

Interment Services Schedule Main Menu

COOPERATIVE COORDINATION AND SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

The Cemetery requires coordination and scheduling of all interment services at the cemetery.
The Cemetery must be contacted PRIOR to the scheduling of any services to make sure that the time and
day have not been scheduled for another service and that there is a sufficient opening/services time ratio.

The Cemetery reserves the right to:
(a.)  deny the scheduling or require a change in the time
(b.)  charge for the additional labor, over time and/or late arrival.
(c.)  charge a fee for accepting interments not meeting minimum notification requirements (short notice)

MINIMUM NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

The minimum amount of notification that is required for the coordination, scheduling and preparations for an
interment is 12 regularly scheduled unencumbered weekday working hours.  (# 1)

The Cemetery must be informed if a FULL MILITARY HONORS SERVICE has been requested and will be
provided. prior to the day of the service.

THE NUMBER OF INTERMENTS/OPENINGS PER DAY:  (Limit combination of 2, only one AM and one PM service )

Weekdays the Cemetery personnel and equipment can normally support only one funeral service or grave opening in the morning and one funeral service or grave opening in the afternoon.   The Cemetery does not wish to take on more services than can be handled in a professional manner, doing so would mean "short changing" two families.  Each service deserves the full attention of the Cemetery personnel.

Every attempt will be made to accommodate the desires of our Interment Right Owners and their families.  When possible the Cemetery will attempt to handle additional grave openings or funeral services but this may necessitate one or more of the following: a.  Overtime to be charged.  b.  False set-up be done with the interment at a later day or time.  c.  The service be rescheduled for a later day or time.  d.  That additional equipment be arranged for by the funeral home from their vault company, the cost of which is not chargeable to the Cemetery.

SATURDAY INTERMENTS  as a rule, will be restricted to Services arriving at the cemetery before 12 noon and will be subject to an additional charge for overtime.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES:

Additional charges may be added to the Interment fee when Markers, Monuments, Memorials and/or plant materials placed within the area of the owned Interment Rights have to be removed in order to gain access to, or set up the interment service.

NOTE:    The Cemetery requires the use of a TOP SEALING vault, graveliner or concrete box.    Embalming  is required when anything other than a sealed vault is used.

THE TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR THE CEMETERY IS   (703) 549-7413
The answering/paging service is NORMALLY set up for the number (703) 549-7413.

    # 1   Note: 12 regularly scheduled unencumbered weekday working hours is defined as 12 hours when the cemetery
maintenance operations are open and when there is no other funeral or opening being performed, or other conflicting
activity, so as to permit the proper preparation of a site for a funeral service.

    # 2   The interment fee includes an amount as an apportionment to  THE CARE, MAINTENANCE, as well as the FUELS,
TAXES & ENVIRONMENTAL SURCHARGES and CONTRIBUTIONS TO ENDOWMENT FUNDS.  The many
professional services performed by the cemetery grounds and administrative personal include the collection of
information, determination of ownership rights, obtaining permissions, preparation, completion and collection of
forms and documentation, entering and maintaining this legal information in the cemetery data base system
and files, locating, laying out and confirming the site of the interment, excavating and removing spoils, preparation of the
site for the funeral service, providing, setting up and removing the framing, lowering device, artificial grass, tent and chairs,
assisting  with placement and installation of the burial vault or liner, returning, backfilling, tamping and the leveling,
regrading and hydro-seeding after settlement of the site.

    # 3   Disinterment fee includes all of the administrative services of an interment and more as well as the preparation of
the site, removal of the earth over and partially around a vault or liner for the removal of a vault or liner by a professional
vault service, and the back filling, tamping and restoration of the site.   It does not include any charges from funeral
directors, vault companies or other professional services that may be necessary to accomplish the task.  Nor does it include
the possible replacement cost and disposal fees of the vault or liner or the professional funeral director costs for movement
of the remains from one container to the other.  These later fees might be incurred because the vault or liner may be damaged/
broken in the removal.  These outer burial containers are designed to be placed in the earth not removed from it.
